There
are some great opportunities to serve as volunteers for Canyon Vista
classrooms or PTA committees.
As a volunteer you
have an enormous impact on the lives of our children.
Children love seeing their parents and other family members
volunteering at their school. It gives them a sense of pride
and teaches them how important community service is. Whether you work
full time or stay at home, volunteering can be for you.
Volunteer commitments may last one hour, one afternoon, one week or all
year long. The choice is up to you. The Canyon
Vista PTA is grateful for your efforts and contributions.
Help to ensure all Canyon Vista Students enjoy GREAT PTA programs, such as:
Field Trips, Art Masters, Assemblies, Reading Olympics, Talent Show, Red Ribbon
Week & many more! There is something for EVERYONE: At home, on campus, one hour,
twenty hours… With YOUR support, our programs will continue to be a success and
provide AMAZING programs for our students. Please consider ANY committee that
interests you. The opportunities are endless! No experience necessary. If

Art Masters-Help
prepare materials for Art Masters classroom activities.
□
Book Fair-Help
set up books and/or run cash register for Book Fair (2x/year - Fall and Spring)
□
Box Tops-
Count and package box tops to be sent in for
reimbursement, help with copying and distribution of flyers and help with box
top collection contests.
□
Community
Service-Assist
with planning approximately 3 community service events throughout the year to
teach our students about the joy of giving to others. (Food drive, Blood Drive,
Pennies for Patients, etc…..)
□
Smoothie
Sales-Volunteer
once a month on a Thursday from 12:30-1:15PM for Smoothie sales.
□
CV Families
Helping Families-Assist
in fulfilling Canyon Vista families’ needs during times of sickness and tragedy.
□
Directory-Approximately
2-3 hours needed in the Fall to sort and distribute Directories. Data entry
opportunities also available.
□
Family
Science Night-Tuesday
9/16/06 from 5:30-7:00 to collect admission & waivers at the front door.
□
Health &
Safety-Assist
in planning Red Ribbon Week, Walk to School Day, Traffic Safety, etc…
□
Hospitality-Assist
with food and beverages at PTA events.
□
Jog-A-Thon-A
Spring fundraiser. Help needed in soliciting donations, coordinating the
classes, passing out water, etc. on the day of the event and/or counting monies
received (1 morning, date TBD).
□ Library-Work
with the School’s Library Technician to maintain and enhance the library. (Note
this is not the classroom library parent)
□
Newsletter-Can
be done at home. Writing short articles for the PTA newsletter.
□
Reading
Olympics-Can
be done at home. Tally monthly reading logs turned in by students (need
1-2 volunteers/class).
□
Recycling Program-Assist chair with printer cartridge/cell
phone recycling program with promotion and incentive programs.
□
Reflections-(Fall)
Help organize and implement this PTA art fair/contest.
□
Fall Fundraiser-Help count money received from orders (Sept.) and
help sort/distribute orders to students/classes (Nov.)
□
School Play-(Spring)
Help plan and organize the school play (tryouts may begin in the Winter).
□
Spirit Wear
–Help sort, distribute and sell Spirit Wear products.

Spring
Family Fun Night-Help
plan and implement a Spring Family Fun night for Canyon Vista Families. (Movie
Night)

Talent Show-Help
Plan and Organize the Talent Show (November)

Appreciation Day-Celebrate
our WONDERFUL teachers and staff at Canyon Vista. Party planners and decorators
encouraged to assist!

Yearbook-Contribute
to the layout and design of the school yearbook (using an online user friendly
program) or just send in your pictures. If you can take a picture, you can
help!
